The younger of twin girls, by five minutes, Vita migrated to Australia from Indonesia at the
age of two.
Having studied the violin and piano from a young age, Vita was part of a string quartet that played at weddings, events and church services…and so began her love for worship.
At the age of 25, after the painful end to a relationship, she searched for a way to heal, to communicate her feelings. Vita turned to her journal, and began to write down her emotions. This then led to the natural inclination to put them into song. And so began Vita's journey as a songwriter.
She would sing about her pain, her joys and the lessons that God was taking her through. This naturally translated into writing worship songs for Newhope Baptist Church, where she is still actively serving on the worship team.
March 2009 saw the release of Vita's debut EP, "REAL" which she produced with PC3 drummer, and "big brother" Phil Gaudion.
"I learnt so much during that time", recalls Vita. "Phil is an incredibly gifted musician and he played a significant role in building my confidence as a singer/songwriter. He has championed me from day dot, and is still journeying with me now. I'm really proud to call him my big brother".
Easterfest '09 Christian Music Festival in Toowoomba Queensland, hosted Vita's first public debut and she recalls that as an "awesome time with the greatest friends in the world". She has since performed at Easterfest 2010 and 2011.
Having had a taste of public performance as a solo artist, she continued to pursue her passion for sharing her life, lessons and love for Jesus through her songs.
In September '09 Vita decided, at the very last minute, to enter the 89.9 Light FM (Melbourne's Christian Radio Station) Musical Challenge, with her song "RUNNIN", with which she later won the competition. This saw her benefit from more than $5000 worth of recording, management, publicity and performance coaching. It also resulted in her single making a debut on the Rock Across Australia's Top 30 Charts.
"The best part of all that, was sharing it with my family, friends and my church family. It was just so much fun to be finally doing what I had always dreamed of doing. I have made some amazing friends along the way, and winning the competition has allowed me to meet significant people in the industry to help make my ministry happen. I really am blessed."
Since winning the Musical Challenge, Vita has released three successful singles, "Runnin", "Turn It Up" and "Hold On" (co-written with Roma Waterman). Her latest single, "Streetlights", co- written and produced by Michael Paynter and Michael De Lorensis (The Kingdom) released on August 16th, 2011.
